For the love of anything good, including pretty penguins....
a) If you call me tonight, saying that you want me to cover your shift tonight, and that you've decided that you'll be sick today or tomorrow...you aren't sick. You don't get the choice on when you want to be sick, unless you deliberately give yourself food poisoning or something.
b) You also aren't needing to study tonight, if you were out partying with other members of staff two nights ago. Calling in sick, therefore, is an unwise idea. You will be roasted.
c) Don't go "oh, i don't want to work $day, so I declare that I didn't know i had a shift then". You will get an anonymous note left about what you did, because I'm sick of it. Convenient forgetfulness is not an excuse for not turning up!
d) If i am your supervisor, and ask you to do something, and you say "Yes, i will", incorrect courses of action are:
1. Call up your friends on the work phone
2. Bring magazines up onto the service desk, and read them
3. Send messages on your phone
4. Start eating store produce, where you seem to "forget" to pay for it, until i remind you a few times.
5. Start chatting to your friend from another store, while he is on his break, for half an hour
And this girl's training to become a nurse. Makes me hope I *never* need to visit wherever she's working at!
And to the store manager....If i call an emergency code to a particular place, you should go there, WITH HASTE! Don't just bury your head in the sand, and slowly wander up, taking as much time as you can. If it's an emergency code, then it's *probably* important.
